Headier Than Your Head Leather and Specialties is a small homestead based business! Bethany’s main source of income is custom leatherwork. In a world of fast fashion, she has chosen to create hand crafted and sewn, one of a kind leather creations. She hand tools, stamps, dyes, paints, and draws up custom designed items… everything from belts, wallets, earrings, skirt cinches, florist belts, festival belt bags, and hats!

All the materials Bethany uses are American sourced, and tanned. She also chooses only leather that is a byproduct of the food industry or ecological maintenance efforts. Bethany believes that leather is a beautiful material to work with and if properly cared for, can last a lifetime, and be passed down. If maintained with proper repairs as the item wears, leather is often very repairable. Bethany offers what she calls, “functional repairs” and encourages customers that have leather items in need of repair, to stop by her booth and get a quote. Often times she can repair it on the spot! Unlike many of our mass produced synthetic products, if leather does end up in the landfill, it will biodegrade easily without leaving micro plastic in our soil.

If you aren’t in need of leather art, you can also check out her specialty items: from sourdough baked goods, jams, syrups and hand cut pasta, to fresh greens, plant starts and free range eggs! All lovingly grown or crafted.
